Pastor Jim Olsen

Rev. Olsen is a retired American Baptist pastor. In his 42 years of ministry he served churches in Factoryville, PA, Portland, Oregon, and the Baptist Church of West Chester where he served as senior pastor for 22 years. Rev. Olsen retired in 2005 and since that time has been serving as assistant to the Sr. Pastor for Biblical Studies and Leader of Development at St. Paul’s Baptist Church, West Chester, PA.

Rev. Jim Olsen and his wife, Arden, have been married for 43 years and have two children; a son, John, who serves as a chaplain at Abington Hospital and a daughter, Rachel, who is a co-pastor with her husband at the First Baptist Church of Dixon, Illinois. James and Arden also are blessed with three grandchildren, Gabrielle 10, James 3, and a new grandson, John, who is three months old.

Rev. Olsen enjoys teaching Bible Studies, and preaching, reading English Reformation history and histories of Lincoln and the Civil War. He also enjoys gardening, raising chickens, (has 11 hens of various breeds) and restoring antique two cylinder John Deere tractors, of which he has 6! He and Arden are members of the Waterloo Boys Two Cylinder Club of Southeast, PA, and in parades around southeastern, PA, the latest being the Old Fashion Christmas Parade in West Chester, PA.
